There is such a large world of different food types to try that often you are left wondering how to sample them all without going broke. I love food and have been fascinated by worldwide cuisine since I was a young child as my family travelled a lot. I love to cook new foods at home now, but I hate the cost of all the ingredients. My blog is all about food from around the world, and how to cook it on a budget. From buying spices online to sourcing cheaper cuts of meat, my blog posts will have you cooking up a storm in your kitchen in no time at all.
Are you the person in your group of friends who is known to throw the best parties in town? If so, then you're probably hosting a New Year's Eve party. Are you looking for fresh ideas that will make this party the best one ever? You've come to the right place to get those ideas.
Invitations
Start by sending out very clever invitations. Making them yourself might make them even more special. For instance, the front of your invitation might have a simple drawing of an old man with a caption under it that says something like, It's time to say goodbye to the old year. The top of the inside page could show a drawing of a baby wearing a banner with 2020 on it. The caption underneath the baby could say, Let's welcome the New Year together!
Catering
Plan a menu that is both delicious and easy to serve. Start by ordering plenty of special event ice. For instance, buy both crushed ice and cubed ice. The facility where you order your event ice might even have ice that is shaped like balls, which would be fun to serve. Don't worry if you don't know how much ice to order. Just tell the person who helps you with your order how many will be attending your party. He or she will have the experience to tell you how much ice you'll need.
Are you going all out on decorations? If so, the place where you order your ice might even have ice sculptures that can be the focal point of your decorations. If not, then the agent who helps you will more than likely be able to refer you to a business that does provide ice sculptures.
Think of making your appetizers the main part of the meal. For instance, if you serve small tamales, have things like guacamole, bean dip, little tacos, and halved corn-on-the-cobs that have a special seasoning on them. Or, go with small corn dogs, fruit kabobs, French fries, and a veggie tray. By the time your guests eat those kinds of appetizers, there won't be a need for any other foods. For dessert, think of going with cupcakes, which will be easy to serve.
The entertainment will, obviously, be part of the fun. Even if you only have a small space available for dancing, go for it. And, of course, save some time to toast the new year when it turns 12:00.
